Gilbert Gomez, age 77 years, of Hackettstown, NJ, died on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the House of the Good Sheperd where he resided.
Born in Regla, Cuba, October 9, 1929 son of the late Francisco and Hortensia Baza Gomez, he had resided in Hackettstown for the past year and a half, having previously lived in Deltona, FL and Deer Park, Long Island, NY prior to that.
A former Model Maker and Foreman with J & R Displays, Farmingdale, NY, Mr. Gomez also was formerly employed for may years by Ralph Nadelson, Inc., Manhattan, NY as a Commercial Design Artist.
A thirty-seven plus year Communicant of St. Cyril & Methodius Church, Deer Park, NY, he was very involved with the Church from designing the bulletin covers to serving as a Eucharistic Minister to volunteering on a host of other committees.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Ida Velazquez Gomez; a son, Gilbert Andrew Gomez of Charlotte, NC; three daughters, Theresa Gomez of Lake Luzerne, NY, Marguerite Gomez of Port Jefferson, NY and Monica McGill of Long Valley, NJ; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10 AM in the House of the Good Shepherd Chapel, 798 Willow Grove Street, Hackettstown, NJ Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
