Giuseppe Mannino, age 90 years, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at his home in Flemington NJ surrounded by his family.
Born May 20, 1931, in Carini, Sicily, Giuseppe was the son of the late Giuseppe and Rosalia (Ruffino) Mannino. At the age of 36, he immigrated to the United States in 1967 and worked construction in New York City for many years before moving to Flemington in 1974, where he has lived since.
Giuseppe joined his brother, Giacomo (“Jack”) Mannino at the pizza shop in Flemington, “Jack’s Pizza”, before opening his own shop in Lambertville, “Giuseppe’s”, which is still currently operated by his daughter.
While not having a formal education, Giuseppe excelled in his business instincts and was loved by the many people who had the chance to meet him. Giuseppe loved a good party – he could be found randomly dancing and singing with his wife, the late Giuseppa Ingargiola, having a beer or glass of wine, or sharing a good meal (especially one of his favorite delicacies, clams!) with his many family members, neighbors, or friends.
Giuseppe was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Giuseppa (Ingargiola) Mannino in 2015, his grandson, Antonio Mannino, his granddaughter, Maria Mannino, his brother, Giacomo Mannino, and his sister, Carmela Badalamenti. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rosalia and Vito Mannino of Ephrata PA; his daughter, Francesca Mannino of Flemington NJ; his son and daughter-in-law, Salvatore and Jacqueline Mannino of New Hope PA; and his daughter and her fiancé, Giovanna Mannino and Mark Hazzard of Lambertville NJ.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Marianna Vastino and her husband, Jonathan, Lance Thatcher and his wife, Amanda, Josephine Mannato and her husband, Justin, Giuseppe Mannino, Giovanni Mannino, Alessandra Johnson, Alessio Mannino, Robert Johnson, and Maxim Mannino, and his three great-grandchildren, Danny, Salem, and Justin, as well as his two sisters, Vita Vasallo and Giovanna Candela, his two brothers, Salvatore and Antonio Mannino, his sister-in-law, Rosa Picone, his brother-in-law, Giuseppe Ingargiola, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
