BRANCHBURG TOWNSHIP, NJ - Glenn V. Pettit, age 78 years, of Branchburg Township, NJ, died on Friday, May 20, 2011, at his residence. He had formerly resided in Flemington, NJ.
Born in Albany, NY in 1932, he was the son of the late Leland and Esther Pettit, formally of Three Bridges, NJ. Mr. Pettit moved with his family to New Jersey and was raised in Bound Brook and Three Bridges. He was a career maintenance and production worker and retired from Ortho Pharmaceuticals, Raritan, NJ. Jovial and well liked, Mr. Pettit was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed music and dancing and was a member of many social organizations over the years. He was a daily attendee with a group of friends for breakfast at McDonalds, active in the Branchburg Senior Citizens and the Three Bridges Reformed Church.
Surviving are two brothers, Gene Pettit and wife, Carla, of Fairfax, VA, and Paul Pettit and wife, Sandra, of Raritan Township, NJ; a cousin, Phyllis Lockwood and husband, Don, of Amherst, NH; three nieces, four nephews, five great-nieces and seven great-nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Three Bridges Reformed Church, Three Bridges, NJ on Saturday, Jun4 4, 2011 at 11:30 am. Private interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ will be under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
