Gloria Mae Taylor, age 92 years, beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, November 29, 2024, at the Sunrise of Bridgewater - Assisted Living Facility, Bridgewater Township, NJ. Born on October 15, 1932, in Los Angeles, CA, she was the daughter of the late, Harold and Ila (Coonfare) Erickson. She grew up in Bell, CA, and had formerly resided in Great Neck, Freeport, and Northport, NY, Flemington, NJ, Taos, NM, and Coatesville, PA, each location contributing to her rich tapestry of life experiences.

Gloria raised her children in Long Island, NY and worked part time as a school bus driver. She also enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a sales clerk at A&S and Macy's Department Store in Hempstead and Huntington, NY, and Woodbridge, NJ, where she devoted thirty years of her life from 1965 to 1995. Her gentle nature and pleasant personality made her a favorite among colleagues and customers alike, reflecting her innate ability to connect with others. 

Throughout her life, Gloria was known for her love of hosting family gatherings, with Thanksgiving being her most cherished occasion. She took great pride in creating memorable moments that united her family around the dinner table. Her interests included needlework, highlighted by her exquisite violin needlepoint creation, as well as cooking specialties like chicken marsala and chicken piccata. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, immersing herself in the world of her favorite soap opera, General Hospital, and indulging in the romance of Bridgerton on Netflix.

Additionally, she was a former member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Northport, NY and Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in Malvern, PA where she and her husband made many friends with whom they enjoyed numerous social activities. Gloria also participated in The Red Hat Society, encouraging women to get the most out of life.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband, the late Stephen L. Taylor, who passed away in 2019; her daughter, the late Stephanie Corso, who passed away in 2008; as well as her siblings, Leonard Erickson and Harold Erickson.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gretchen and Ed Pozarycki, of Raritan Township, NJ; five grandchildren: Tyler Pozarycki, Jordan Pozarycki, Matthew Corso (Casie), Lindsey Pisani (Mario), and Gregory Corso (fiancé, Madeline); and two great-grandchildren, Henry and Charles.

Gloria loved her family beyond measure, her legacy will live on through the memories she created and the love she shared generously. Gloria Mae Taylor and her selfless, gentle soul, will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Arrangements and cremation services are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Memorial services will also be private.
