Gordon Kenneth Johnson, Sr.

Gordon Kenneth Johnson, Sr., age 79 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, September 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Edward and Astrid Gramsland Johnson. He had resided in Stanton since 1976, having previously resided in Flemington, NJ and Long Branch, NJ.

He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Gordon was a life member of Flemington Elks Lodge 1928, American Legion Post 159, Flemington, NJ, and VFW Post 7856, Flemington, NJ. He was also a member of the Flemington Moose Lodge. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Long Branch.

Mr. Johnson spent many years in the Health Information Systems field, and later owned and operated GK Johnson & Sons Tree Service.

He was predeceased by his wife, MaryAnn Johnson, in 2013; and by several siblings. Surviving are his daughter, Karen Ondrak; his sons, Gordon K. Johnson, Jr. and Erik Johnson, all of Flemington, NJ; a brother, Edward Johnson, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a sister, Fran Crowell, of Okeechobee, FL; and his grandchildren, Jessie and Wyatt Ondrak.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Burial will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11 AM in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 10 am until 1 pm in the funeral home.
