Grace Heininger, age 76 years, of Alpha, NJ, died on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at home.
Born in Somerville, NJ, she lived in Frenchtown, NJ for most of her life before moving to Alpha ten years ago. She retired from Hunterdon Medical Center where she worked as the switchboard operator and was known by nearly everyone in the hospital.
Predeceased by her parents, Francis A. and Lillian (Emery) Hultz and her husband, James J. Heininger, Grace is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Michael Resenhoeft of Old Bridge, daughter, Harriett O’Rourke of Holland Twp., her sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Brenda Heininger of Easton PA, James and Diane Heininger of Belvidere NJ, and her son-in-law and girlfriend, Michael O'Rourke and Sandy Brown, with whom she resided for many years, and also by her sister, Marge Landis of Broadway NJ. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kristal, Thomas, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Hailey, Jillian, James and Kelly, and three great-grandchildren, Summer, Grayson and Addisyn, as well as several cousins.
A memorial service will held at 3 pm, Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Friends may gather Saturday from 2 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, 360 Prospect St., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865, or to the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
