Harrie Edmond Copeland III, of Delaware Township, NJ, died suddenly on November 10, 2014 in Florida at the age of 64.
He was a graduate of Hunterdon Central High School class of 1968 and a BA in Business in 1972-73 from University of South Carolina.
Copeland served over 20 years in the Navy and retired as a Commander, served as Mayor, Freeholder, and sat on many boards. Harrie was a gentleman farmer, ran a family office equipment and supply company, Copeland Auction Company, retired from Hopewell Valley Bank, Member of the Mayflower Society, Eagle Scout, NJ Sons of the American Revolution, Past President of the New Jersey State Society of Auctioneers, National Auctioneers Association, Past President of the Hunterdon County Rotary Club, YMCA, Volunteer of the Year, Board of Volunteer Guardian and Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation Board member.
Preceded by his parents Harrie and Charlotte Copeland of Delaware Township. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Wienk Copeland of 39 years of Delaware Township, son Harrie E Copeland IV of Gainesville, VA and wife Kimberly Copeland, daughter Rachel Copeland Bell of Denver, CO and husband Christopher Bell, sisters Janet Copeland Black of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and husband William Black, Jr., Nancy Copeland Padfield of Springfield, TN and husband Gregory Padfield, three grandchildren Kelly and Sydney Copeland and Copeland James Bell, three nieces; Stacy Black, Sarah Black and Charlotte Padfield and one nephew Rex Padfield. Also his loving in laws Arnold and Kay Wienk, and their son, Richard Wienk.
The celebration of his life and visitation will be on Monday Nov. 17 from 3 to 7 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private.
