Harriet K. Emann, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Raritan Township, NJ. She was born on December 18, 1934, in Princeton, NJ, and lived a life full of purpose, love, and dedication.

As the owner of a successful laundromat service in Fort Myers, FL, Harriet was known for her commitment to providing excellent service to her customers and creating a welcoming atmosphere at her establishment. Her entrepreneurial spirit and hard work contributed to the local community, and she built lasting relationships with those she served.

Harriet’s family was central to her life. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Jo Opdyke and her husband Skip, and Donna Lee Hatcher and her husband Michael; her sons, Clark Emann and his wife Linda, and Kipp Emann and his wife Sherry; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Harriet cherished the time spent with her family and instilled values of love and compassion in each of them.

She was predeceased by her parents, William A. Powner and Mamie Pierson Applegate Powner, who played foundational roles in her upbringing and instilled in her the values that she carried throughout her life. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John R. Emann, who died in 2012. The last of her siblings, she was also predeceased by her sisters, Mary Raudso and Jean Buck, and her brothers, John Powner and Thomas Applegate Powner. 

Harriet K. Emann will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering support for her family, and her contributions to her community. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who had the pleasure and privilege of knowing her.

Cremation services are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
