Harry Austin Lund, 71, of Solebury Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, March 12th, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ. His son, Dr. Mark E. Lund M.D. said “my father died peacefully in his sleep, with his family and loved ones at his side, after every effort had been exhausted to fight a rare blood vessel disorder that affects less than 1% of the population.”

Mr. Lund was born April 20th 1936 in Metuchen NJ and was a life-long resident of the Garden State until shortly before his death.

A graduate of Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, Catholic University in Washington D.C., the Darden School of Management at the University of Virginia, and New York University School of Law; Mr. Lund served as Senior Vice President in charge of Corporate Financial Consulting at Irving Trust Company. Later, Harry acted as President and CEO of the Stamford Connecticut based Protein Capital Corp, a company engaged in the acquisition and management of dairy companies. Mr. Lund was also the founder of Portland Square Group, a mid-sized investment bank.

Mr. Lund’s daughter, Sharon M. Grant said “of all his many accomplishments, Dad was proudest of his MBA from the University of Virginia, his long service as a corporate financial consultant with Irving Trust, his many friends and contacts worldwide, and most of all his family. Dad always put his family and friends first. He came third.”

An internationally known author and lecturer on financial topics, Mr. Lund was best known as the director of the Week on Wall Street seminars. He was the creator and managing editor of Private Placements: National and International Markets, founder and frequent contributor to The Financial Advisor newsletter. He also wrote guidelines used by the US Government Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.

Harry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elaine; his children Dr. Mark Lund and Sharon Grant; their spouses Wendy and Scott; and his four grandchildren Austin-Leigh, Harrison, Spencer, and Alexander.

His wife, Elaine, has been touched by the outpouring of prayers and affection during her husband’s illness and since his passing. She said, “he was blessed in life by the love and caring of so many good friends and family and Harry carries that love with him into the afterlife. I want to thank all of the many people who came to visit in the hospital and sent their good wishes, prayers, letters, phone calls, and gift baskets. It is comforting to remember that my husband touched so many so deeply.”

Mr. Lund served in the US Army and Reserves in the counter-intelligence division from 1960-1966. He was on the Church Council at Our Lady of Victories in Baptistown NJ, and Treasurer of the New Jersey Council on Economic Education. Mrs. Grant, said that “Dad loved baseball, jazz, humor, and above all else traveling. He loved to just get in the car on a Saturday and take us all on long trips in the country that we called Harry Lund's Adventures”
