Harry E. Mannon, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009.

Born: November 25, 1916 in Raritan Township, NJ, he was a son of the late Frederick S. and Ida M. Hartman Mannon.

Personal: He was a farmer who for seven decades operated and cared for family farms in Hunterdon County, New Jersey and Williams Township, Pennsylvania. He also worked as an excavating contractor and heavy equipment operator. Harry graduated from Flemington High School in 1934 and became involved in New Jersey agricultural and dairymen's organizations.

Memberships: He was a member of Flemington Presbyterian Church. He belonged to the Elks and served with the Williams Township volunteer emergency squad.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, the former Alice Krautwurst and formerly of Sidney, NJ; two sons, James H. and his wife Stuart and their children Ellis J. and Joyce S., and Samuel F., all of Indianapolis.

Services: A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 14 at Leppert Mortuary Chapel, 740 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis, with visitation prior to the service at 12:30 p.m. A burial service will take place at Cherryville Baptist Church Cemetery, 594 Cherryville Road, Flemington, NJ at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
