Harry Earl Taylor, Jr., age 77 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at his residence.
Born in Trenton, NJ, April 5, 1932, son of the late Harry Earl Taylor, Sr. and Myrtle Schneider Taylor, he had resided in the area over sixty years.
Mr. Taylor worked for over forty-nine years at Johanna Farms, Raritan Township, NJ, retiring in 1999. He then worked for seven years at Garden State Growers, Pittstown, NJ.
A longtime communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, he also served as an usher over the years. Additionally, Mr. Taylor was a member of the Croton Rod & Gun Club.
An infant daughter, Judith Ann Taylor, died in 1961.
Surviving are his wife, Julia Enea Taylor, with whom he joined hands in marriage on April 1, 1951 in St. Magdalen Church on Park Avenue in Flemington, NJ; two daughters, Linda Smith of Frenchtown, NJ and Diane McCowan of Orefield, PA; a son, Robert Earl Taylor of Bloomsbury, NJ; his step-mother, Irene Taylor of Frenchtown, NJ; six grandchildren, Michele L. Bush, Dawn M. Ruckle, Trevor Smith, Mathew D. Bush, Amanda Taylor and Morgan Taylor; two great grandchildren, Brendan Ruckle and Alexis Smith; a sister, Shirley Trout; and two brothers, Robert Taylor of Frenchtown, NJ and Richard D. Taylor of Milford, NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
