Hazel Adele Desario

Kingwood Township NJ – Hazel Adele DeSario, age 84 years, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Foothill Acres Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Hillsborough NJ. Born March 28, 1932, in Staten Island NY, Hazel was the daughter of the late Violet (Perine) Miseno. Raised in Staten Island, Hazel was resident of Kingwood Township for more than 30 years, moving there in 1986. She graduated from New Dorp High School in Staten Island. She was a Legal Secretary and later worked for many years as a Medical Transcriptionist for the Affiliates in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Flemington NJ. Hazel was the rock in her family, often smiling and making those around her feel comfortable and welcome. She could be found completing crossword puzzles in pen in her spare time. She enjoyed tending to her garden of flowers as well as entertaining, cooking and especially, baking, for her family. Hazel was predeceased by her first husband, Julius Stankovics, and her son, Dennis Stankovics in 1959, as well as her second husband, Alfred DeSario in 2007, her sister, Alice Palmieri, and her mother Violet Miseno in 2015. She is survived by her four children, her daughter and son-in-law, Diane & Michael Micali, her daughter, Pat DeSario, her son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Joan DeSario, and her daughter, Denice Muller. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Micali, Amy Jo Connor, Tommy, Greg, and Andrew Muller, and Timothy and Allison DeSario, as well as two expected great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Our Lady of Victories Church, 1005 County Road 519, Baptistown, NJ 08803. Cremation will follow privately. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
