Hazel Mcpherson

Hazel McPherson, age 86 years, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Flemington, NJ, died on Sunday, June 21, 2009 in the Masonic Home of New Jersey, Burlington, NJ.

Born in Lebanon, NJ, December 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Hurley and Marilda Hendershot Burd, Sr.

She had resided in South Carolina for the past two years, moving to the Masonic Home three weeks ago.

She was employed by RCA, Bridgewater, NJ, then by Majors Department Store, Flemington, NJ, and later was a dietician at the VA Hospital, Lyons, NJ.

Her husband, Peter McPherson, and three sons, Henry Smith, Jr., Richard L. Smith, and Ronald J. Smith pre-deceased her. She is survived by a daughter, Joann Stubbins, of Myrtle Beach, SC; a son, James M. Smith, of Sergeantsville, NJ; a brother, Kenneth Burd, of Easton, PA; fourteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Sandy Ridge Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ.
