Helen Brezina, age 94 years, of Holland Township, NJ, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at home.
Born in Bayonne, NJ, January 15, 1920, daughter of the late George and Mary Gasper Kazimar, she had resided in Elizabeth, NJ, then in Flemington, NJ since 1989.
A homemaker, she was Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #6, Elizabeth, NJ; was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ and was a volunteer for ten years at the Hunterdon Medical Center.
Her husband, Bernard Brezina, Sr., died in 1988 and she was also pre-deceased by two sons, Joseph and Bernard Brezina, Jr, and a sister Genevieve Kazimar.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Scolavino of Bridgewater, NJ, Bernadette Maszczak of Milford, NJ, and Deborah Swiatek of Stockton, NJ; two sons, Kenneth Brezina of Milford, NJ, and John P. Brezina of Glen Gardner, NJ; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 29, 2014, at 10:00 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, Calling hours will be Sunday 2:00-4:00 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to Briteside Adult Day Care Center, 16 Sandhill Rd., Flemington, NJ 08822.
