Helen Phieler, age 96 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, passed away on October 8, 2018 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset, Somerville, NJ.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ on July 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Helen (Dzierzanowski) Stawski.
Helen was formerly a telephone operator for New Jersey Telephone Company in Flemington.
She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the quilting club at St. Paul, Bingo every week, and her crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, Henry Oswald Phieler in 2010, and her six brothers.
Surviving are her two daughters, Lorraine Burket of Flemington, NJ, and Alexandra Mathews of Stockton, NJ; five grandchildren: Tracy Reasoner, Sherry Reasoner, Lucas Mathews, Debra Mathews-Smyer, and Brian Mathews; and four great-grandchildren: Bria Reasoner, Chloe Reasoner, Lia Mathews, and Nathan Mathews.
Funeral services at St. Paul Lutheran Church will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11 AM under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington. Interment will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 St. Route 31, Flemington, NJ 08822.
