Helen R. Apgar

CLINTON, NJ - Helen R. Apgar, age 91 years, of Clinton, NJ, died Wednesday, March 24, 2015 at her home.

Born in Clinton, NJ, January 11, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus R. and Lela Maude Race Fox.

A homemaker, she was a Deacon at Clinton Presbyterian Church and was a member of the church choir for over fifty years. Helen was a member of the Eastern Star, High Bridge, NJ, and a member of Town of Clinton Election Board.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Lawrence C. Apgar, Sr. in 2007.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Ann Gates of Bethlehem, PA and Patricia Apgar Swartz of Skillman, NJ; two sons, Lawrence C. Apgar, Jr. of Cazenovia, NY and Cyrus Fox Apgar of Clinton, NJ; eight grandchildren, Jered L. Apgar, Jeremy A. Gates, Jennifer C. Trussell, Allason R. James, Stephanie N. Mylenski, Tim C. Gates, Raymond L. Swartz and Lela N. Swartz; and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Clinton Presbyterian Church, 91 Center Street, Clinton, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Grandin, NJ. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
