Helene M. (Peggy) Zahn

Helene M. (Peggy) Zahn, age 74 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at her residence.

Born in Barrow-In-Furness, England, May 24, 1930, daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Thackery Burdekin, she had formerly resided in Long Island, NY and had resided in Delaware Township, NJ since 1976.

A homemaker, she was also a former substitute teacher. She was a graduate of Beaver College and received her Master's degree from Hofstra University on Long Island, NY.

An avid bridge player and gardner, she was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church, Flemington, NJ; the Rug Hookers Guild of Hunterdon County; and the Community Garden Club.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-two years, Warren A. Zahn; a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Jack Lally of Brookfield, CT; two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew Zahn of Annandale, NJ and Mary Zahn of Readington, NJ and Douglas and Christine Zahn of Bellmore, NY; and nine grandchildren, Eric, Andrew, Jr., David, Brian, Emily and Kristen Zahn, John Lally III, Christine Lally and Kerri Lally.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in Calvary Episcopal Church, Broad Street and New York Avenue, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ.
