Henry Burget, age 94 years, of Sergeantsville, NJ, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at his residence.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, May 7, 1911, he was the son of the late Sigmund and Marie Gobel Burget. He had been a resident of Sergeantsville, NJ for seventy years, having formerly resided in Croton, NJ.
He was a 1931 graduate of Flemington High School.
He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a Sergeant with the Maintenance Group at Seymour Johnson Air Base, NC. He serviced bombers, including the A20 and A26.
He was employed by the Flemington Feed Company, Flemington, NJ, before opening the Burget's Feed and Hardware Store, Sergeantsville, NJ, retiring in 1976.
He enjoyed traveling to Europe and Arizona with his wife, Mary Brown Burget, who died November 19, 1994. He was also pre-deceased by two sisters; Lillian and Alice; and three brothers; Charles, Edward, and Walter.
He is survived by a daughter, Eileen Goodwin, of Sergeantsville, NJ.
He was a charter member of the Sergeantsville Fir Co; Past Master of Orpheus Lodge, F & A.M., Stockton, NJ; formerly served on the Delaware Township Board of Education; was a charter member of the Delaware Township Municipal Utility Authority, and was a fifity-one year member of the Copper Hill Country Club, Raritan Township, NJ.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 AM in the Sergeantsville United Methodist Church, Sergeantsville, NJ. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
