Henry C. Hunt, Jr., age 81 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Monday, December 24, 2007 in Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.
Born in Pittsburg, PA, August 14, 1926, son of the late Henry C. Hunt, Sr. and Marion Mills Hunt, he had resided in Raritan Township for the past year, having previously lived in Stanton, NJ for over fifty years.
A 1948 graduate of Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Highest Honors, Mr. Hunt was an Executive with Mobil Oil in New York City, NY for thirty years. He, along with his family, spent many years of his professional life living in England, Italy, Japan and Australia. Additionally, he was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of New York.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. A longtime member of the Stanton Reformed Church, Stanton, NJ, Mr. Hunt was also a member of Dream Mile Fishing Club, Pocono’s, PA and a former member of the Amwell Valley Conservancy, Ringoes, NJ.
Mr. Hunt was an avid fly fisherman. He also enjoyed history as well as cooking and was a lover of fine foods.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Rebecca Pollitt Hunt; two sons, Henry C. Hunt, III of Columbus, OH and Douglas E. Hunt of Charles Town, WV; a sister, Patricia Scott of Cranbury, NJ; and six grandchildren.
A Remembrance Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Stanton Reformed Church, Stanton, NJ. Interment took place in Newell Cemetery, Stanton, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
