Henry R. Smith, Sr.

Henry R. Smith, Sr., age 92 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Friday, November 6, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Delaware Township, NJ, March 11, 1917, son of the late Isaac and Cora Suydam Smith, he was a lifelong resident of Delaware Township.

A 1934 graduate of Flemington High School, Flemington, NJ, Mr. Smith was formerly employed by Bush Dairy Farms, Flemington, NJ for thirty-five years and then went on to work as an Electrician with Holcombe Electric, Pennington, NJ, for fifteen years until retiring.

He was pre-deceased by three sons, Henry Smith, Jr., Richard L. Smith, and Ronald J. Smith as well as his former wife, Hazel McPherson, in June of this year.

Surviving are a daughter, Joann Stubbins, of Myrtle Beach, SC; a son, James N. Smith, of Sergeantsville, NJ; a brother, LeRoy Smith of Sergeantsville, NJ; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great- great granddaughter.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Sandy ridge Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ.
