Henry George Wilke, Jr., fondly known as "Hank", was born on March 23, 1930, in Staten Island, NY. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, in Raritan Township, NJ. He was 94 years old.
Hank served his country with honor as a United States Army veteran during the Korean War. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a corporate secretary for the Jaeger Lumber Company, Middlesex, NJ, where he worked for over 20 years. In addition, he also operated his own advertising company and traveled the country as a motivational speaker. His professional life was marked by commitment and a strong work ethic, traits that endeared him to colleagues and friends alike.
A tremendous athlete, as a young man he pitched for several years in the New York Yankees farm system. Later in life, he became an avid golfer, and a member of Oak Hill Country Club, Milford, NJ.
He was predeceased by his parents, the late Alvina (Ensminger) Wilke and Henry George Wilke, Sr.
Hank was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 65 years, Marilyn (Hession) Wilke, with whom he shared a passion for traveling. Together, they created countless memories and explored various destinations, reveling in the joy of each other's company.
In his community, Hank was known for his friendly demeanor and kind spirit and always showed kindness and compassion for others. Along with his wife, he leaves behind dear friends and neighbors, Bettina "Tina" and John Huff and William and Karen Hoff, who cherished his friendship.
Cremation services and arrangements are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
