Herbert Edwin Dvoor

Herbert Dvoor, age 85 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at his home.

Born in Derby, CT, July 24, 1924, he was the son of the late Jacob and Ida Savelwitz Dvoor. He was a lifelong resident of Raritan Township, NJ.

He was a 1942 graduate of Flemington High School, and a self-employed farmer and businessman.

Mr. Dvoor was a member of Flemington Elks Lodge #1928, and Darcy Lodge #37, F.& A.M. He was an avid blackjack and poker player.

Surviving are three daughters; Marlene Dvoor of Somerset, NJ; Carol Dvoor of Raritan Township, NJ, and Shari Dvoor of Raritan Township, NJ; a brother, Melvin Dvoor, of Raritan Township, NJ; and a granddaughter who was his pride and joy, Jennifer Dvoor, of Raritan Township, NJ.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 2 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
