Herbert M. Culberson, age 82 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died at home peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 26, 2008.

Born in Delaware Township, NJ, June 20, 1926, he was the son of the late James Cook and Edith Terry Culberson. He was a lifelong resident of Delaware Township.

A United States Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Culberson was a member of the Sergeantsville United Methodist Church and the Sergeantsville Volunteer Fire Company.

He was a Special Police Officer for the Delaware Township Police Department for fourteen years, a school crossing guard for the Delaware Township School, and formerly worked for Castena Dairy, Trenton, NJ, and for JC Culberson & Sons Excavating.

Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Doris E. Hewitt Culberson; two sons, Dennis W. Culberson and his wife Peggy of Milford, NJ, and Kenneth L. Culberson of Delaware Township, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna Lee and John R. Todd of Raritan Township, NJ; two brothers, Robert Culberson of Flemington, NJ, and James Culberson, Jr. of Delaware Township, NJ; a sister, Ethel Emmons of Delaware Township, NJ; four grandchildren: Gregory Paul Culberson, Heather O'Donnell, Timothy James Todd, and Stephen John Culberson; and three great-grandchildren: McKenzie O'Donnell, Madilyn O'Donnell, and Ashley Grace Culberson.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
