Herbert W. Busch

Herbert W. Busch, age 79 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Monday, February 10, 2014 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, November 6, 1934, son of the late Louis and Viola Meyer Busch, he had resided in Readington Township since 1970, having moved from Scotch Plains, NJ.

A man who could best be described as both and eclectic and a renaissance man, Herbert was a Partner for many years in Olympic Tool Co., Bound Brook, NJ.

Herbert was an environmentalist who loved sustainable farming. A car enthusiast, he also loved fishing and many outdoor activities.

He was a frequent traveler and maintained a home in Sao Pedro de Moel in Portugal where he could be found watching the sunset over the ocean every evening when he was there. Herbert was also a proud member of the Sao Pedro de Moel Fire Department.

If he could be remembered as anything though, it would be as a proud “Popsy” to his grandchildren and great- grandchildren as well as a devoted husband and cherished father.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Lauricella Busch in 1996.

Surviving are his wife of fifteen years, Linda Miccio Busch; two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Scot Bennett of Flemington, NJ and Carolyn and Alan Pepperman of Lebanon Township, NJ; his step-son, John and wife, Shawn Rosania of Medford, NJ; his step-daughter, Julie and husband, Louis Vannucci of Staten Island, NY; seven grandchildren, Rachael and her husband, Steve Hawk, Sean Bennett, Lauren Pepperman, Louis and Danielle Vannucci and John and Alexandria Rosania; two great grandchildren, Joseph and Samantha Hawk; his mother-in-law, Jean Miccio of Whitehouse Station, NJ; and a brother in Alaska, Rex Busch.

Memorial Services will take place Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private in Portugal.
