Hilda L. Zachar, age 83 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Denmark, May 13, 1928, daughter of the late Severin and Karen Overgaard Tange, she had resided in Delaware Township from 1946-1960 when she moved to Washington, NJ and then returned to Delaware Township in 1985.
She was a former restaurant owner, operating Zachie's Restaurant, Washington, NJ for several years, retiring in 1985.
She was a charter member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flemington, NJ and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Washington, NJ.
Her husband, Samuel Zachar, died in 1996.
Surviving are three daughters, Bonnie Smith of Austin, TX, Diane Langenbach of Summerville, SC, and Pat Franchino of Bridgewater, NJ; a son, Samuel Zachar of Delaware Township, NJ; and two grandchildren, Katherine and Elizabeth Franchino.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ followed by interment in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ.
