Hilda Ziegler, age 85 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, February 9, 2007 at her residence.
Born February 27, 1921 in Tiefenbach, Germany, daughter of the late Josef and Franziska Nothaft Obermeier, she had resided in Raritan Township since 1948, having previously lived in Milford, NJ and Ridgewood, NY.
Emigrating from Germany in 1937, she, along with her husband, owned and operated a Butcher Shop and Grocery Store in Flemington from 1948 until 1988.
A Communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society there. Mrs. Ziegler was also a participant in the Homebound Group of St. Magdalen Church as well as an attendee of Briteside Adult Care in Flemington, NJ.
She was pre-deceased by five brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-one years, Joseph Ziegler; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph E. and Loretta Ziegler of Raritan Township, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Bertha and Raymond Gessner of Raritan Township, NJ; and three grandchildren, Alex Ziegler, Veronica Gessner and Adrienne Gessner, all of Raritan Township, NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
