Horst Witzke, Ph.D.

Horst Witzke, age 67 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Klein Sasse, Germany, April 4, 1942, son of the late Bernard and Helena Kaczkowska Witzke, he had resided in Raritan Township, NJ for the past twenty-eight years, having formerly lived in Princeton, NJ.

Dr. Witzke received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia and was a retired Research Scientist with Exxon Mobil, Clinton and Linden, NJ where he worked for over thirty years.

Surviving are his wife of forty-one years, Ingrid Luise Wessel Witzke; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rene B.E. Witzke and Molly Countermine of State College, PA and Adrian R. and Rebekah Shearn Witzke of New York, NY; five grandchildren, Benjamin B. Witzke, Anabel Grace Witzke, Gabriel S. Witzke, Lucy Rene Witzke and Leo Alexander Witzke; two sisters, Inge Derke of Seattle, WA and Hannah Schmah in British Columbia, Canada; and a brother, Eli Witzke, also in British Columbia, Canada. A grandson, Eli Witzke, is to be born approximately on October 29, 2009.

Another brother, Leo Witzke, died earlier.
