Hugh E. McGee, age 54, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington NJ.
He was born November 9, 1959, in Allentown PA to the late Hugh McGee Sr. and Catherine (Quinn) McGee. A graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1977, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University in 1982, and a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Technology from Rutgers University in 1984. Hugh worked for BASF as a Technical Sales Rep. for the last 15 years. He was previously employed at Union Carbide for 18 years as a Sr. Research Scientist.
Hugh was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a lifetime member of the NRA, and a long-time member of the Maskenozha Rod & Gun Club in Bushkill PA, a place where he spent much time with his family, fishing and hunting. With a talent for woodworking, Hugh made many pieces of furniture that are in his home today. A man of many abilities, Hugh loved history and reading, his vegetable garden, taking care of his pristine lawn, and cooking, and especially loved helping his daughters with their schoolwork.
Predeceased by his parents, Hugh is survived by his wife of twelve years, Carole (Mitchell) McGee, whom he married in Sligo Ireland; his daughters, Erin, Katie, and Reagan McGee; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Edmund Boyle of Wakefield, RI, and his sister, Patricia McGee of Hockissin DE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington NJ. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 to 7 pm at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ 08822.
