Ioannis A. Balios, age 82 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at his residence.
Born in Limnos, Greece, May 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Agorastos and Fotini Balios.
He was a retired teacher in Greece and also served in the Greek Army.
He was a member of St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church, Flemington, NJ.
An avid reader, he also loved swimming, bicycling, and walking.
Surviving are his wife of forty-seven years, Efthimia Theoharis Balios; a daughter, Sofia Manoussakis, of Clinton, NJ; two sons, Alexandros Balios of Centerville, VA, and Nicholaos Balios of North Arlington, NJ; and five grandchildren: Adriana, Alexa, Corinna, Andrew, and Anna.
Also surviving are two sisters and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:30 AM in St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church, 85 Voorhees Corner Road, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
