Ira Bass, age 81 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, New York City, NY.

Born in New York City, September 17, 1927, son of the late Samuel and Fannie Levine, he had resided in the Flemington area seventy-nine years.

A 1945 graduate of Flemington High School, Flemington, NJ, he went on to graduate the Parsons School of Design, NYC, NY. He was a Graphic Artist with House Beautiful Magazine, NYC, NY until his retirement.

A United States Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Bass was a longtime member of the Flemington Jewish Community Center, Raritan Township, NJ; a member of the Jewish War Veterans; and was a member of the Flemington American Legion Post #159, Flemington, NJ.

His sister, Sylvia Bass Selesnick, died in 1968.

A loving uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle, he is survived by a niece, Linda Selesnick Fox of Long Beach, CA; two nephews, Dr. Mark Selesnick of Concord, NH and Dr. Samuel Selesnick of Montclair, NJ; several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the Flemington Jewish Community Center, 5 Sergeantsville Road, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Enter circle and bear left continuing on Route 202 South, immediately

bear right onto Route 12 West. Stay on Route 12 West around the

next cirlcle. Continue on Route 12 West for 1 mile, then enter the next

circle and take the third exit onto Sergeantsville Road / CR 523. Make

the first left onto Dvoor Blvd, and a quick left into Synagogue parking

lot. Synagogue is directly across from the Raritan Towhship Municipal

Building.

From the Tappanzee Bridge:

Take Route 287 South. Take exit 17 (formerly Exit 13, Somerville -

Princeton Route 202 - 206 South). Go approximately 13 miles to the

Flemington Circle. Follow directions from the Flemington circle.

From New York City:

Take NJ Turnpike South following signs to Exits 14 A-B-C. Connect to

Route 78 West. After about 20 minutes take exit 29 to Route 287

South. Take Route 287 South. Take exit 17 (formerly Exit 13,

Somerville - Princeton Route 202 - 206 South). Go approximately 13

miles to the Flemington Circle. Follow directions from the Flemington

circle.

From Philadelphia:

Take Route I-95 North. Take the first exit after crossing the Delaware

River onto route 29 towards Lambertville. Proceed through

Lambertville, following signs for Route 202 North. Route 202 North is

joined by Route 31. Proceed on Route 202 - 31 to the Flemington

Circle. Follow directions from the Flemington circle.
