Irene C. Gramlich

Irene C. Gramlich, age 90, died Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. Born November 23, 1924, in Roanoke, WV, Irene was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Sabo. She moved to Hunterdon County at a young age and has lived in that area most of her life. Irene graduated from Flemington High School and received a Nursing Degree from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Trenton, NJ. She worked as a triage nurse for Roebling Steel in Trenton for many years and then for local doctors in that area. She was married to the late George R. Gramlich for more than fifty years, they moved to Cherryville NJ in 1964, and Irene has lived there since. Irene was a long-time member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Pittstown, NJ, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband, George R. Gramlich in 1999, her son, George F. Gramlich in 2000, and her brother, William Sabo in 2013. She is survived by her son, John W. Gramlich, her grandson, Michael Gramlich, both of Flemington, NJ, and her sister-in-law, Bernice Sabo of Cherryville, NJ. Cremation and interment in St. Magdalen Cemetery are private and under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home in Flemington, NJ. A service of remembrance at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Pittstown, NJ, will be held at a later date.
