Irene D Storr died suddenly after a brief illness on Jan 11, 2018 at age 73 surrounded by her loving family.
She was the loving mother of Richard J Storr and Suzan J Storr; sister of Olga Y Nethers, Francisca C Leistra, and Grace S Clifton. She was predeceased by her mother Jane Santing, and her brother Johannes Leistra.
Born and raised in The Netherlands in 1944, she immigrated to America in 1962. First to Flemington, NJ and then to Chicago, Ill where she spent the last 35 years before moving back to Flemington in 2017.
In Chicago she worked as an accountant for Walsh-Higgins real estate company and the Stage Hands Union. She loved Chicago and often attended the theatre and concerts there with her dear friend Phyllis and long- term friend Vince.
She also took many trips back to her beloved Holland where she spent time with her many childhood friends in Friesland especially Hinke and Daan De Boer and family. She always looked forward to her school reunions, visiting the Waddensee and the Friese Paarden who she declared were the most beautiful horses in the world.
Irene was an avid reader she loved her books and knitting giving many of her beautiful creations to her family and friends and often donating them to various charitable organizations. Irene wanted it known that she had led a fulfilled life and was ready for whatever happened.
Services are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
