Irene Dilts Knoster

Irene Dilts Knoster, age 94 years, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at her home.

Born in Lambertville, NJ, June 4, 1918, daughter of the late Edward P. Ottarson and the late Myra Dilts Ottarson Smith, she had resided in Lambertville for the past year, having formerly lived most of her life in Delaware Township, NJ.

Mrs. Knoster was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, having worked for Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown Manor Nursing Home and she had also worked as a private duty nurse.

A longtime member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, Sandy Ridge, NJ, she had formerly served as Deacon and also sang with the choir. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, oil painting, spending time with her cherished family and was very active with the Delaware Township Seniors.

Her husband of sixty-two years, Edward William Knoster, died in 1999. Additionally, a son-in-law, Warren Greene, died in 1996.

Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Sylvia Anne Rea of Doylestown, PA, Joan Christine Greene of Ringoes, NJ and Kathy Phoebe Horne and Jay Horne of Raritan Township, NJ; eleven grandchildren, Wesley Bellis Bodine, Mark Benjamin Bodine, Nyla Jean Yannarella, Lisa Irene Kilgore, April Anne Waldron, Scott Warren Greene, Kelli Lynne Greene, Edward Randolph Wooden, Deborah Ann Quinn, Heather Ann Becker and Renee June Wooden; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, 47 Sandy Ridge Road, Delaware Township, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Church beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. There will be no other calling hours.
