Irene M. Sweeney

Irene M. Sweeney, age 79 years, formerly of Flemington, NJ, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Medical Center of Princeton, Plainsboro Township, NJ.

Irene was born in Flemington, NJ, December 29, 1938, daughter of the late Edward and Isabella Lucarini, and had resided in the Flemington area most of her life.

A retired telephone operator, she was formerly employed by NJ Telephone Company, Flemington, NJ and later by Flemington Answering Service.

Her husband, Harry "Pete" Sweeney, died in 1988.

Surviving are a son, Harry "PJ" Sweeney of Alpha, NJ; a daughter, Sharon Hartpence of Lambertville, NJ; a brother, Edward Lucarini of Colorado; a sister, Edna Odell of Chester, NJ; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving is her companion of twenty-five years, Arthur Lentini, of Raritan Township, NJ.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 10:00AM in Holcombe Riverview Cemetery, Lambertville, NJ, Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
