Irene Polosky, age 88, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at her home in Whitehouse Station, NJ.
Born December 9, 1926 in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Viola (Maczek) Juzwick. Raised in Scranton, Irene moved to Rahway and graduated from Rahway High School. She began work on college degrees from Kean College in her 30’s, eventually completing her Masters Degree in Special Education. She was a Reading Specialist in the Woodbridge School District for many years, working with many children that were special to her. Irene was the recipient of the "Teacher of the Year" award; an incredible honor, as it was in her very first year of teaching.
She and her husband, Joe, loved to travel, with many trips overseas to the Mediterranean and Europe, as well as throughout the United States. She was an avid reader and loved to cook for large gatherings of family and friends. The love and care of family was so very important in life.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband of 53 years, Joseph Polosky in 2000, her brothers, Eugene and Edward Juzwick, and her late step-mother, Mary Kaminski Juzwick, with whom she was lovingly raised.
Irene is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Jerry Klymec of Kingwood Township, NJ; a son Joseph Polosky of Three Bridges, NJ; and two grandchildren, Candace V. Klymec and Adam L. Klymec and his wife, Denise Torbik; her caregiver, Linda Fari, and many nieces and nephews.
