Isabel D. Lambelet, age 95 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Independence Manor, Flemington, where she had resided since 2015.
Born in Ann Arbor, MI, July 21, 1923, daughter of the late Forrest L. and Claire Comstock Dimmick, Isabel was a Professor of Microbiology at Douglass College, New Brunswick, NJ, then at Pace University, Pleasantville, NY and later at Raritan Valley Community College. She formerly resided in Chicago, Armonk, NY and New Brunswick, NJ, before moving to Flemington in 1983.
Isabel received her BA from Smith College, her MS from University of Southern California and her Ph.D from Rutgers University. While at Douglass College, she did research on basic acidophilus.
Isabel was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church of Flemington and the church’s Altar Guild and was also a former volunteer at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington, NJ
Her husband, Rev. Clarence A. Lambelet, the former Episcopal Chaplain of Rutgers University, died in 1990.
Surviving is a nephew, Lawrence Lambelet, of Boynton Beach, FL.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2019, at 11:00AM in Calvary Episcopal Church, Broad Street and New York Avenue, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Flemington Presbyterian Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
