J. Robert Schwind

J. Robert “Bob” Schwind, Jr., age 88 years, died Friday, March 31, 2017, at Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Township NJ.

Born March 3, 1929 in Newark, NJ, Bob was the son of the late John R. and Emma (Thoma) Schwind. He spent his childhood in Bloomfield, NJ before moving to Readington Township and later, Clinton Township. He was the husband of Hedwig “Hedy” (Goeselt) Schwind for 54 years, until her passing in 2010. Bob was a Communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Annandale, NJ.

Bob attended Stevens Institute of Technology, and received his Master’s Degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He worked his entire career as an electrical engineer for AT&T, focusing his efforts on their Long Lines sector.

From February of 1951 until February of 1953, Bob proudly served in the United States Army.

Bob was “lucky in love” with his wife, Hedy. Upon his retirement, they owned and operated Deer Path Antiques, and loved attending antique shows together.

A sports fanatic, Bob loved the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and watching golf on TV.

Surviving are a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Elizabeth Goeselt of Exeter, NH; a niece, Laura Smith, of North Hampton, NH; a nephew, Brian Goeselt of North Hampton, NH; and caring friends who were by continuously by his side.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Union, NJ. Calling hour will be Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
