Jacob Ryan Wassel

Jacob Ryan Wassel, age 19 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Royal Oak, MI, June 10, 2004, he is the son of Jeffrey Adam Wassel and Lisa Jane Wassel.

A 2022 Hunterdon Central Regional High School graduate, Jacob was one of the creators of the Esports gaming club at the high school. Playing video games online with friends locally and across the country was his favorite way to spend his time.

He was incredibly knowledgeable in military history, aircraft, vehicles, and firearms. Jacob was extremely patriotic and had a goal of joining the United States military and serving his country.

A fan of the band Avenged Sevenfold, Jacob loved music and playing his guitar. He also loved being on the lake catching fish.

He is pre-deceased by his paternal grandfather, James Wassel.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his sister, Jenna Rose Wassel; his maternal grandparents, Dollie and Stephen Mowrer and paternal grandmother, Patricia Wassel.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 9:30-11:30 AM in the funeral home.
