Jacqueline May Roelant (Drasher)
09/25/1964 - 01/10/2023
Jackie, as she was more often called by friends and family, was born in Somerville, NJ and grew up in Branchburg, NJ. She lived a life full of love and laughter, so often being a comforting shoulder and warm smile for others.
She is survived by her daughter Jessica Roelant and son-in-law Michael Harcarik; sister Tama Drasher and her husband Danford Smith, nieces Danielle Bonk (Drasher) and Cady and Alaina Smith, and nephews Connor Smith and Timothy Drasher Jr. She is predeceased by her parents Jean and Calvin Drasher, and brother Timothy Drasher Sr. Jackie also leaves behind many close friends who loved and admired her. Jackie was employed by Dr. Christopher Cassetty of Hunterdon Dermatology, as not only the office manager for nearly 15 years, but as a loved and valued employee and coworker.
Jackie and Jessica were especially close, an amazing mother/daughter team. They were the light of each other's lives and spent as much time together as possible. Something they both cherished in recent years was making time for traveling together. Their most recent and memorable adventure was a road trip throughout New England along with Jackie's dear friend Nora Mathews and her daughter Shea Gillet. Prior to that, Jackie and Jessica took a trip to London, as well as multiple locations in Scotland. Edinburgh was a particularly special city for Jackie, somewhere she marveled at seeing and wanted to return to.
Most of all, Jackie was a beautiful, caring, and empathetic person who loved her family, friends and especially her beloved dog Roo. Jackie enjoyed a sunny beach, a good glass of wine, and more than anything else, she loved to laugh. She was vibrant, fun, and had an amazing sense of humor. Often hard or difficult times for others were turned into smiles by Jackie, who was always putting others before herself. The loss of her love, friendship, and selfless nature has been devastating to many, and will never be forgotten.
Services for Jackie will be private. If you wish to honor Jackie, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her name to the Animal Alliance, Lambertville, NJ (www.animalalliancenj.org). Jackie was well known for being a life-long lover of animals. Dogs, cats, and horses were particularly loved, and we are certain she would be grateful to see gestures on her behalf sent to help animals in need.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. For further information or to send an online condolence, please visit Jackie’s Tribute Wall at www.holcombefisher.com.
