James C. Cunningham, age 83 years, of Clinton Township, NJ died on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ.
Born in Chicago, IL on October 5, 1936, he was the son of the late Creighton and Letha Cunningham.
Mr. Cunningham, formerly of Charleston, WV, and had resided in West Amwell Township, NJ since 1976.
James received his Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University and his Master’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati. While in West Virginia he worked as a chemical engineer with the FMC Corporation. He then moved to New Jersey to continue working as a chemical engineer for FMC in Princeton, NJ. While working with FMC, James designed chemical plants all around the world.
Additionally, James loved to travel. His favorite places to vacation were in Temagami, Canada, and places north of North Bay, Ontario. He loved fishing and bringing his dog and family to Canada. He had visited Canada ever since he was a little boy.
He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Florence (Burbank) Cunningham, who just recently passed away on March 26, 2020. James is survived by his two daughters, Cathleen Cunningham of Trenton, NJ and Kira Hokulani Kawamura and her husband, Keith Kawamura, of Olympia, WA.; two grandchildren, Tyler Cunningham of Trenton, NJ and Samantha Pauley and her husband, Jacob Pauley, of Odessa, TX; and two great grandchildren, Chance Jameson Pauley and Adro Jonathan Pasqual Ochoa.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be a Memorial Service in St. Matthews, 300 South Main Street, Pennington, NJ at a future date and time to be announced.
