James E. Beherrell, age 82 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Lynn, MA, May 2, 1934, son of the late Samuel and Eva Larkin Beherrell, he had formerly resided in Massachusetts before moving to the Flemington area.
James was an engineer for David Sarnoff Research Center, Princeton, NJ for forty years before retiring. A United States Marine Corps veteran, James was a member of the Marine Corps League of Hunterdon County, NJ, also known as the “Bulldogs”. An avid square dancer he enjoyed traveling, camping with his family and the outdoors.
He is pre-deceased by a sister, Barbara Beherrell in 2014.
Surviving are his loving wife of sixty years, Patricia Beherrell; three children, Jill Beherrell of Sparta, NJ, Scott Beherrell of Chesterfield, SC, and Cynthia Stewart of Manahawkin, NJ; three sisters, Dorothy, Nancy and Sandra; two brothers, Herbert and Carl and three grandchildren, Victor Beherrell and Sean and Kevin Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Noon in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Sandbrook Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
