James E. Gorel, age 86 years, of Three Bridges, NJ, died on Monday, November 12, 2012, at his home.
Born in Bound Brook, NJ, September 20, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Julia Jacobs Gorel. He had formerly resided in Delaware Township, NJ.
He was an automobile mechanic with Havens Ford, Bound Brook, NJ retiring after forty-one years there in 1989. He was an accomplished artist painting scenes of Hunterdon County. He won several awards for entries in the Senior Art Contests. He also enjoyed making wooden ship models.
He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Anne K. Gorel; a daughter, Mary Louise Rives and he husband Robert of Battle Mountain, NV; three sons, Gregory Gorel and his wife Christine of Readington Township, NJ, Richard Gorel and his wife Michelle of Tempe, AZ, and James E. Gorel, Jr. of Bethlehem, PA; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Cherryville Cemetery, Cherryville, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
