James Gould Moffitt, “Jim” 64, died at his residence in Budd Lake, NJ on September 30, 2023.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Mary Jane and his brother Robert.

Jim is survived by his daughter Christen and son Joseph and by his sisters: Pamela, Paige, Mary Lisa, Lori and Leslea.

Jim was graduated from West Morris Central High School in Chester, NJ in 1978. He pursued a career in the culinary arts as a chef. His love for cooking was well appreciated by his clientele and his family.

Jim was a voracious reader and an avid fisherman and especially loved fly-fishing in the Colorado Rockies.

Jim’s family and friends described him as a kind and gentle man whose love of all animals was evident to anyone he met. He especially loved dogs and sometimes helped to socialize lucky, foster-to-adoption puppies and adult dogs.

Jim will be deeply missed by his family and friends whom loved him dearly.
