James H. Livezey

James H. Livezey, age 78 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Born in Woodbury, NJ, August 4, 1945, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Underwood) Livezey.

During his teenage years, he attended Sandy Spring Friends School, Sandy Spring, MD, a private boarding high school. He had lived in Deptford, NJ most of his life, but had also resided in Exton, PA, and Raritan Township, NJ since 2012.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era, serving primarily on the submarine USS Will Rogers from 1965-1971.

A commercial electrician by trade, he was formerly employed by EMD Chemical Company, Gibbstown, NJ.

James was a member of the Quakertown Friends Meeting, Quakertown, NJ; a decade long volunteer for the Black River & Western RR, Ringoes, NJ; and an avid Harley-Davidson and Corvette enthusiast. Most importantly however, he was an avid spectator of his step-grandchildren’s Lambertville sports.

He will be remembered as the kindest and most genuine man his family had ever known.

Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Rosemary D’Allura; son Joseph Livezey, daughter Heather Livezey and grandson Tyler Livezey; step-daughter Johnelle Whipple and step-grandchildren Brendan and Julia Whipple; as well as his sister, Trish Willever.

As is Quaker tradition, James will have a simple, private burial.
