James J. Lechner, age 89 years, of Pittstown, NJ, died on June 8, 2012. He was born in Dunellen, NJ, March 17, 1923, son of the late John and Margaret Lovedy Lechner, he had resided in Pittstown, NJ for the last forty-two years.
A United States Army Veteran of World War II, he was the former owner and operator of Jim's Body Shop, Elizabeth, NJ. He was an avid pigeon flyer belonging to the Elizabeth Pigeon Club and the Hunterdon Flyers.
His true pride, besides his family, was the family farm in Pittstown, NJ where he loved spending all of his time.
He was pre-deceased by five brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are his devoted wife of forty-two years, Carole Kemper Lechner; his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Nicole Lechner; grandson James Clark Lechner; a brother-in-law, Charles Meszaros of Wellington, FL and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery office on Wednesday.
