James "Jim" Weisneck

August 9, 1949 — June 4, 2020

James “Jim” Weisneck, age 70, of Raritan Township, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Hardy) Weisneck he attended St. Michael’s Catholic School in Hopewell, NJ before graduating from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1968. Jim resided in Hopewell for many years before moving to Raritan Township in Hunterdon County in 2002. He served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Jim was a devoted father and grandfather and loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, attending classic car shows or playing a hand of gin rummy. He hosted a weekly family dinner to bring everyone together at his table. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his sisters Lisa Jones and Catherine Wilson. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Weisneck; sons Jim Weisneck and Brian Weisneck; brothers John Weisneck of Mesa, AZ and Thomas Weisneck of Vicksburg, MI; sister, Rita Johnson; grandson Brett Allen, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. A granddaughter will be born this fall. Due to the pandemic graveside services and interment in St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Hopewell, NJ will be private, under the direction of Holcombe Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. A celebration of life will be held for friends and family at a later date.
