James M. Horvath, age 79 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Trenton, NJ, March 7, 1938, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen Molnar Horvath. He had resided in East Amwell for the past forty-five years.
Mr. Horvath was part of the first graduating class from Hunterdon Central High School in 1957. A few years later, he graduated from the New Jersey State Police Academy in Sea Girt, New Jersey and went onto become the first patrolman for the Flemington Police Department. After seven years, he left the Police Department to begin a thirty-three year career with Ortho Diagnostics a division of Johnson and Johnson in Raritan as a shipping manager.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, MaryAnna Vocke Horvath; his children, James R. Horvath of Phillipsburg, NJ, Justine J. Fletcher of Atlanta, GA, and David Horvath of East Amwell Township, NJ; a brother, Michael Horvath, of Hammonton, NJ; a sister, Christina Beagen of Port Charlotte, FL; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Noon in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 am until Noon in the funeral home.
