James Oakes

James Oakes, age 82 years, of Quakertown, NJ, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ, where he had resided for the past four years.

Born in Newark, NJ, August 8, 1927, son of the late Harry and Kathryn Oakes, he was a lifelong Quakertown resident.

A self-employed house painter, he was a graduate of Flemington High School, Flemington, NJ and was a longtime member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church, Quakertown, NJ.

Surviving are several cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ.
