James P. Connors

James P. Connors, age 68 years, of Delaware Township, NJ passed away Wednesday May 5 at his residence.

He was born in Cheshire, CT, July 28, 1941, son of the late Cyril and Olga Rinaldi Connors. He had formerly resided in Greenbrook, NJ then Readington Township for five years before moving to Delaware Township over thirty years ago.

He attended Seton Hall University and owned and operated J&R Trucking, then was employed by Tarantola Trucking Company of Flemington, NJ and retired as Vice President of merchandising for Food Town Stores.

He served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1969 and was a United States Army boxer. He also loved his Ford tractors.

Surviving are his wife of forty-three years, Karen Kreie Connors; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracey & Robert Flaherty of Asbury, NJ; a son, Richard M. Connors of Delaware Township; two sisters, Kathleen Heim of Berkeley Heights, NJ and Marybeth Zielenbach of Cranford; five grandchildren, Therese, Amanda, Shawnn Meghan, Luke, and Tommy Flaherty.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday 4-7 p.m. Interment will be private.
