James P. O'Donnell, age 79 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday morning, July 5, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, August 29, 1933, he was the son of the late Patrick and Celia Pissott O'Donnell.
He was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre, PA, and attended Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War attaining the rank of Sergeant.
He was the president of Bass Transportation, Flemington, NJ for thirty-six years. He was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ.
James is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Rosemary Doyle O'Donnell; his five daughters: Mary Patricia O'Donnell of Malvern, PA, Kathleen O'Donnell of Clifton Park, NY, Nancy Bill of Flemington, NJ, Coleen Hoffecker of Jameson, PA, and Susan O'Donnell of Bethlehem; his brother, Edward O'Donnell, of Mountain Lakes, PA; and by his ten grandchildren: Justine, Coleen, James, Johanna, and Celia Rosen, Maxine and Grace Littner, and Rosemary, Daniel,and Eleanor Bill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822, or to the Carmelite Monastery, 26 Harmony School Road, Flemington, NJ 08822.
